Authenticity and Fraud

Graphics sold through Colleen Ross are thoroughly inspected by the artist and heavily hand embellished before shipment. Each graphic is provided with a certificate of authenticity.

 

in more recent years, fraudulent copies of Ross’ work have begun to show up on the internet as either edition prints or originals works of art. Be wary of on-line auctions and review the list of editions that have been printed. All of Ross’ imagery is copyrighted and it is against the law to duplicate her imagery without her permission. Some online dealers have copied images directly from Ross’ website, and have made prints of these pieces for sale as either original uniques or edition prints. Violators of Ross’ copyright have been allegedly found in China , Europe and the United States. Colleen Ross has several different levels for authenticating her works. Only through Ross can one be guaranteed absolute authenticity of an original unique and/or print. No other vendor can offer this level of quality! Terminology

From an original oil painting, individual screens are produced for each color by the master printer. Many Colleen Ross serigraphs are made from over 75 different screens. After artist approval, the edition is hand-pulled one sheet and one color at a time and printed on canvas or acid-free, archival paper.

 

Colleen Ross giclee prints are made individually, on a one-by-one basis, using a precise digital capture of an original oil painting, and then printing the image on exquisite handmade paper or heavy weight canvas with archival inks. Giclee prints are known for their deep, saturated colors and the detail and tonal subtleties they render.

 

Artist Proofs are highly collectable. For Serigraph prints, these refer to the first prints from the printer, which are the sharpest and most pigmented prints.

 

Ross Publications

Colleen Ross limited edition serigraph and giclee prints are a close collaboration between the artist and the master printer, with color selection and final approval by the artist before printing.

Since 1999 Colleen Ross has published giclee editions of her most inspired pieces, such as “Blue Angel” and “Moments.” In 2006 Colleen released “Fantasy Escapes,” which is a beautiful collection of Ross’ fauvist inspired works, with detail and colors so rich and vivid, one can’t help but to be captivated by these extraordinary jewels. “One More Moment,” released in 2007 is a piece that is both modern and inspired. The colors are subtle and breathtaking. Each edition that Ross has produced has been a labor of love.

Available editions

Each edition print has been stored in a flat file from the day of print and kept under archival conditions (ambient temperature, controlled humidity and no light). Prints from Ross’ private collection are as vivid as the day they were printed. Each print either from Ross’ current published editions or older prints will be hand embellished by the artist upon sale and shipped with a certificate of authenticity, signed by Colleen Ross.
