Colleen Ross rocketed her way into the art scene in the early 80’s, bringing her own unique, powerful and unforgettable voice and vision about women to art enthusiasts and collectors alike. Breaking through a traditionally male dominated field, Ross propelled herself forward with her "signature" statement of vivid colors and beautiful women, still unparalleled in the art industry. Beginning to paint by age fifteen, Ross developed a remarkable eye for beauty and the female face and form. With an extensive education and background in art techniques (drawing, painting, sculpture, acid etching, lithography, silk screen, and multiple media mixtures), Ross discovered her most compelling path to inner discovery and expression through oil on canvas. Transcending classical techniques, Ross’ distinctive play with thick paint and colorful pigments, has allowed her to bring life to her visions and capture the evocative essence and indescribable mystery and depth of women. |
