About This Piece:

Nationally acclaimed painter Colleen Ross was selected to produce the commemorative poster for the 1999 Sausalito Art Festival, held over Labor Day weekend.

Her original oil painting titled "Same Time Next Year" portrays two sophisticated women, elegantly dressed in 1940's vintage clothing, seated in a cafe setting in Sausalito's downtown Plaza.

The painting has been published in a limited edition giclee print (shown above), both regular and canvas editions.

This was Ross's second painting for the festival. Her first painting, "Think I’m Gonna Like it Here" was completed for the 1988 festival and the serigraph edition sold out completely in the first year.

This was the first time in the Festival's 47-year history that an artist had been asked to return for an encore performance. Attendance exceeded 62,000 people over the three-day weekend, setting a record high turn out.
